Dr. Mark Bowald, Associate Professor of Religion & Theology at Redeemer, today was appointed the new general editor of Christian Scholar’s Review (CSR), effective May 1, 2015. He succeeds Don King, professor of English at Montreat College in Montreat, North Carolina. Now in its 48th year of publication, CSR is an interdisciplinary journal of Christian scholarship that encourages communication and understanding both among Christian scholars, and between them and others. It invites submissions of scholarly work in any field that reflect a Christian perspective and are accessible to an interdisciplinary readership. CSR is sponsored and supported by 41 Christian universities and colleges from across North America. “This appointment recognizes the great work that Mark has done in contributing to discussions and publishing research from a Reformed Christian perspective,” noted Dr. Doug Needham, Provost and Vice President, Academic. “The appointment also reflects positively on our Religion and Theology Department and on Redeemer University College as a place of serious Christian scholarship and research.” Dr. Bowald has served as the associate editor in theology for CSR for the last six years. The appointment was made after an online ballot of the Review’s editorial board.
